I was just browsing through my Control Panel when I came across Ease Of Access Center. I took a look at the first option; high contrast. If you press and hold left ALT + left SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN, you can toggle between high contrast on or off.

However! When I pressed and held those keys, my computer sounded like a car alarm, warning me about what I was about to do. And the sound didn't come from my stereo speakers; it came from the computer. I'm NOT doing it again; its midnight here and I probably woke up my whole neighborhood already.

You can also try pushing the shift button a bunch of times to warn you about sticky keys. It makes a pretty loud system beep if you aren't expecting it. :p

Not only yours, all notebooks and PCs have the system beep. Its there to give out warnings, usually not through the sound card because it should work even outside the OS (during POST etc..). AFAIK, system beeps in notebooks are coming from the normal integrated speakers; for desktops there is a special built in speaker.

Yeah try shift alt num lock aswell ,
The school pcs do it too , and people just turn them all to high contrast and the other kids dont know how to change back , also if you hold the buttons down it keeps on going with the beeping for ages so you just do that for a minunite and it will last another 10 minunites of beeping

I'm trying to do the same thing now and I'm only getting one beep when turning it on and off.

Last night, I heard something that sounded more like a musical car alarm. Was it because it was just the first time? I want to hear that sound again!
