I have a few programs installed on my pc that came with it but i don't know whether they are just useless bloat ware or necessary applications and i'd appreciate it if you guys could help me uninstall anything unneeded because i just can't figure this out, especially when it comes to the roxio stuff because i don't want to uninstall it and my dvd burner doesn't work anymore. Thanks for the help.

No worries. A Google search often finds the threads on this site. I just find the results more concise and more directly related when I remember to search here first.

BTW, CCleaner has a nice feature that lets you save the list of Installed Programs to a text file.

Here's what it shows I have installed:

Alright i uploaded the list from CCleaner to the OP. Also you didn't have to convert, it's already in .txt format which is uploadable here.

So it is! I replaced the .doc with the .txt since it is so much smaller.

    Really?

The third and fourth link had some of them you specifically asked about, and the links in the fourth one had more.

That's a weird list. Why do you have 3 AVs? Get rid of the rest and keep Avast.

Mostly everything else seems OK, I would guess you really don't need HP support apps like ....

    HP Customer Experience Enhancements
    HP Customer Feedback
    HP Solution Center 8.0
    HP Update
    HPProductAssistant
    SolutionCenter

muvee autoProducer 6.0 is complete garbage.

Everything else seems more of preference whether you want to keep it of not.

I'd start by getting rid of all that HP crap and installing the free XnView and uninstalling one, or is it two (it looks like you have three) of your AV programs. Keep AVG, I found a avast buggy.

I haven't touched them. I want to make my system faster but i'm worried that if i get too deep in tweaks i'll make a mistake and when things go wrong my mom will kill me until i'm 125.

I have heard about setting up a disk image on my HD and then when things go wrong i can just pop out the HD and put it as a slave on my XP to fix or something but i don't know, sounds pretty risky to me.

Also, what do you think about the on screen CAP/NUM/SCROLL lock thing, should i keep it or not?
