    hi i have a hp pavilion dv5-102tx and my laptop come with vista and i have succesfully downgrade to xp sp2 home edition but then after the installation n stuff when it reboot it tell me ERROR LOADING OPERATING SYSTEM so can anyone help me on this??

    "after the installation n stuff" - what does "n suff" mean?

    I managed to corrupt a recovery on my Vaio using Vistas built in tools...

    Point 1 - can't see why you'd want to use XP - but then, its your laptop... so let's skip this discussion.

    Point 2 - can you be specific?
    Did the laptop boot into XP fine and then developed the problem, or did it develop the problem immediately after finishing the installation?
    Did you instal software on it if it booted up once before, if yes, what software?
    Also, can you boot into safe mode?
