Can't install my HP C4580 printer now that I'm on W7? I know HP is slacking on their W7 drivers but serioisly? Is there a workaround for this?

If Windows does not auto detect the printer, load the vista 64 drivers
-
The vista drivers don't work

I don't have Windows 7 so i have no way of knowing if this will work. I have the HP C4480 and I hope that I don't have issues with Windows 7 when I get it on the 22nd. Anyway here is a link I found from a quick google search. Let me know if it works.

I don't know if this will work for HP printers but my Canon printer also didn't have 64bit Vista drivers. I found by trial and error that the drivers for 64bit XP worked just fine. You might give it a try assuming there are 64bit XP drivers available for it.

Windows 7 is very unique though.
Once I inject the my HP Deskjet F4200 Series USB into my laptop.
It auto install the driver.
After that, I can use it to scan and print already.
HP Drivers sucks. I always need to disable them in Services.msc and from Msconfig. Too much start-up and services which is totally unneeded and useless and hogging the system resources. -
You're right. My printer is wireless, so I was trying to install through drivers, discs, etc. I connected my printer directly to the laptop and it instantly installed the drivers. Then I went to "add a printer" and set it up wirelessly. piece of cake.
There are many other fools like me out there with this exact question and no good solution -
I tried to search and google around this HP Driver for Windows 7.
All solutions I found = Plug-in USB that's it
LOL. -
Glad you got it working. For others looking in, another solution might be to run the printer setup in Vista compatibility mode. That's how I did it with my C6180 HP network printer, which wouldn't install natively under Windows 7.

Windows 7 really work out of the box.
It gives much more surprise than I expected.
With the PLUG-IN and use, my housemate will not bother me to scan his stuffs. He just plug-in his Windows 7 Notebook and can use it already. -
yup worked for me too just connect printer let install drivers then install software for vista and works great wireless and all
