HI.
i have a hp laptop ac186nia and i decided to add a ssd o it so i put an samsung evo 850 120 g in main hdd an laptob original hdd on hdd caddy .then installed windows 10 on ssd. after windows boot the original hdd dont recognized by windows but it shows on bios(i select ssd as first boot) . i disconnect it from hdd caddy and put it on another pc(desktop) and it works fine.i also changed ssd and main hdd so i put ssd on caddy and main hdd on its original location but after about 2 minuts that windows boots system freez and hanged and i must shutdown it by holding power button.
can anyone knows about this problem.i think caddy has problem but it it shows both hdd and ssd on bios configuration.and if caddy has problem please sugest a good caddy.or maby there is another problem.
sorry for bad english.

I do not think it is the caddy but will the SSD boot the system if it si the only drive in the primary drive slot? If so then it is the boot to caddy that is of issue along with the anoth issue of the HDD in the caddy (this could just be a new format of the HDD required). There could also be a drive id issue where bot drives have the same id number.

Did you try at any time to clone the drives?

It probably doesn't recognize the caddy that is why it hangs. Did you try to update the firmware to the latest last version available for that laptop? Otherwise it probably will not work for the caddy.
