My Hp Pavilion zd8000 is having display problems. i bought it a couple of weeks ago from a coworker. When I got it home I noticed a major flaw. Two fat stripes that go down the screen. They only seem to appear when colors are displayed on the screen. And they are too big to ignore. he claims it only needs a driver. and some tech's have told me it may be the video card. and that i would have to replace the mother board. well, obviously since i bought it used, it should assumed that i can not afford a major repair on this unit. so im going from the cheapest to the most expensive here. the driver is what i am having a hard time locating. i have called HP tech support. they say that they don’t have it. what can i do?

It sounds like it could be a defective Graphics card.

What Graphics card and OS do you have?

Connect it to an external monitor or TV and see if there are still the two lines. ;)
