    Hi

    I have the Hp Pavilion 9500 laptop - The AMD (64) TL-58 1.9GHz version.
I Want to know if its possible to successfully put Windows Xp on it with all
relevant drivers.I tried once but couldn't find all the right drivers ?
Also took a backup copy of the drivers via driver detective in vista, made into an exe file, then tried to run in win xp,but didnt really work properly ??
Or to strip all the unwanted software from the recovery discs that came with
the laptop to leave only a bare version of Vista + all drivers ?
I know it can be done ,I just need pointing in the right direction ;)
Thanks for reading,I look forward to any posotive replies :D

bare vista + drivers should be best. putting xp on new devices is a russian roulete thing and definitely not worth the hazzle, even if successful. all you get is a very old os to hopefully work stable on your system.

Just disable the unneeded startup processes and services, and you are set. No need to jump in the "cleaning, leaning" games until you get used to Vista.

    cheers ...

I don't mind vista as the machine I have can be quite responsive now & again.
Due to maxxing out the memory & the extra hard drive.
I'm finding that a lot of the software that comes combined in the recovery discs
isn't worth bothering with & is causing a lot of conflicts with certain
    programs I have installed.
After having to reformat due to viruses I can uninstall everything as mentioned but takes a very long time to do. :(
Searching about the net I have read articles that people have put XP on the
    DV9500,but unable to get anything definite,so I won't bother.
Now bare Vista + drivers thats a definite, apart from uninstalling everything
I don't want thats causing problems every time I reformat.
I know disabling the start up process is an option but I'd rather just get rid alltogether.
How can I use my recovery discs to get an image or iso of the basic operating system + drivers from it ,so if I do have to reformat again.
I will only be installing Vista + drivers NO uninstalling useless software.
