Has anyone been able to do this successfully? Ive read a few guides on how to do it,but it never seems to work for me, I think windows always overwrites the file that needs editted on boot up or something (which is system32/en-us/winlogon.exe.mui),you can either hex edit it or use the Resource Hacker.
Basically,I was able to change the Logon background to an all black, removed the logo branding and ease of access buttons,so the only thing that comes up when I boot is the blue orb and "Welcome" on the pure black background. My goal would be to try to just delete the text so all thats there is the orb.

that pretty much allows you to edit everything except for the larger "Welcome","Please Wait","Logging Off" and "Shutting Down" text that comes up when your botting up or shutting off.
