The one issue I had was going to youtube.com. As I would scroll it would eventually give me a dialog youtube is not responding and this would be like this for 30-60 seconds. eventually it would go away and the scroll bar would get focus back and then everything worked fine. Since there is no fix out there that seems to work I just went back to IE10............

The only thing that seems to work is the F12 work around- changing Document Mode from Edge to 10. Then YouTube works as normal but you have to make the change every time you return to YouTube and it's a big pain. What's really infuriating is there has been no acknowledgement from either MS or Google that IE11 doesn't play nice with YouTube.

I am also having issues on youtube.. If I go here Buddy Guy Live From Red Rocks 2013 FullHD 3D (Optional) - YouTube I do not see any comments, (I tried standard and compatibility mode) with IE 11 under Win 7. I also cleared all cache and restored advanced settings in IE 11 as well as full removal of Flash and reinstall of it. If I use pale moon Youtube works perfectly.
I also changed Emulation from edge to 10 but there was no change for me, but thanks for the idea Deekeasy!
Thanks for starting this thread TANWare, I was ready to do a clean install of 7!
Tanware sorry to HiJack, I solved my issue with a browser reset, now I see all the witty comments in youtube and scrolling seems OK
Thanks to TreeTopsRanch for your input!! -

I too had issues with Youtube and IE11. I tried some workarounds. I have a number of tracking protections installed, Adblock for IE, and privacy set above medium in options. Best bet, it's Adobe Flash fault, again. When I changed to HTML5 freezes were gone.
But in the end it doesn't bother me much, I'm slowly dropping Youtube, since it seems it that it gets worse and worse with every crap update. -
Hmm. With the F12 kludge I see comments and normal YouTube performance on both my fully up to date 8.1 and Win7 laptops. I still would like to know why there seems to be nothing official from either the MS or Google camps concerning this mess.

I assume you are using it in desktop mode... in the modern mode there's no error for me. The desktop version is a bit buggy atm.
-
Seems to isolated to just some configurations. I have absolutely no problems with IE 11. (Win 7 64) Youtube plays OK and comments are there. However, lately on FireFox comments are not there as I am using Noscript so it must be blocking the script that allows comments.

It's quite possible that the issue is the newest version of Adobe Flash, so only those that have specific versions of Flash installed will have a problem. Interestingly, I just tried it in my office, and it worked fine; I had just installed the new version of Flash early this morning, and had the issue at home. So, the problem may have been resolved by a reboot; or, it disappears when you use an external monitor, which I have in my office. I'll check back tonight when I'm home.

I pulled flash and could get to my page but not load video's. Thing is with IE11 it still locked up with flash gone all together. Not going back until it is resolved, 10 works fine for now...........

Hmm I have to give that a try with IE11 on youtube but FF25 work fine with youtube but I don't have any addon like ad plus or anything to those likes. The only thing is I edited my "Hosts" file to block any ads and redirects so I don't get more crapp then I need to get rid of.
-
that's immersive mode...
-
Heh, nice find... So, in 2011 someone had the idea to call this "immersive mode". Cute. Unfortunately, by now this would probably be more aptly named "submersive mode", given how this crap is sinking Win8.x...
-
it's actually scripted as immersive mode. i don't remember the syntax and i can't find it on the google (nor do i use IE myself), but there's an address bar command to relaunch a page in the "immersive" browser. it's apparently a chrome thing now too. spaaaace.

Checked again, it looks like the problem is gone now. [Shrug...]

No problems with YouTube with IE11 here, either in metro or desktop. I watch YouTube frequently. I don't use any sort of ad-blocking add-ons or anything like that.

Reporting back I login to YouTube watched video with no problems and was able to save video without much hassle. So I think there might be another problem besides the broswer itself. I keep my broswer clean of ad-blocking program as I mentioned before I use the Hosts blocking file to do most of the work and don't have to rely on those software blocker that can be problematic themselves. Editing the Hosts file does way more better to kill pops up and redirects and site ads that pop when you go to those sites.
-
I use no add-ons other than MSE. Again though I had IE11 on Win7 home-64 so not too sure if that were an issue. It appeared that it was waiting for some type of web site response but not sure if eventually it got it or it timed out and went on its merry way.
-
Was it happening with any video sites besides YouTube (like DailyMotion, Vimeo, etc)? Because Google has a history of using YouTube incompatibility as a weapon against Microsoft (look up the saga of Microsoft's attempt to get a YouTube app, made either by Google or by Microsoft, onto Windows Phone 8). I don't know that that's the case here, but when a Google service and a Microsoft product don't play nice with each other, the fault isn't necessarily Microsoft's.mattcheau likes this.

I still think it was Adobe Flash fault. After I've updated Flash and rebooted my rig, I don't get any freezes anymore.

That figures. Some people here assumed it was a conspiracy by Microsoft to sabotage the desktop user experience; others (myself included) assumed it was a conspiracy by Google to sabotage the IE user experience...but it was really just that Adobe kinda sucks.

Really I never had adobe flash problems either so I don't think it's flash either...I used the standalone offline flash player installer not web installer if that is what most are using is a really bad way to update your software. I rather download the flash and then install knowing that there will not be any problem with the update. -
It wasn't Flash. I had deinstalled and then installed anew flash but to no avail. Even with it out on the deinstall it still locked up than came back. Once I went to IE10 all was fine.
I just installed IE11 again being as some reported it all of a sudden working. Well now it is working fine. No temp lockups etc.. Now I'll have to cruise around to be sure there are no other issues............. -
I am also all good here TANWare, but I did do a full reset of the browser clearing everything initially. I was also getting a ton of ads on various sites, updating my Fanboy TPL - fixed that. Does anyone have any advise about the "setup Internet Explorer 11" screen ? I just clicked ask me later. I also had to roll back foxit from the current to 6.0.6 (I saw a script error when I launched the current version)
Had to give up IE11
