I just received my inspiron 9400/e1705 on sunday and as suggested by everybody in this group, i checked the hardware.

However I could not figure out if the Harddisk was a SATA, 7200 rpm one which i had ordered.

Can anyone tell me how can I do it ?

Look for the model number of the disk drive under device Manager. Type the model number in your google/msn/yahoo and you should see the model specifications listed on the hard drives manufacturers website. Since you ordered a 7200rpm SATA HDD, it should be manufactured by either Seagate or Hitachi.
