I searched the SMART attribute, C5, that is in question:
Count of "unstable" sectors (waiting to be remapped, because of read errors). If an unstable sector is subsequently read successfully, this value is decreased and the sector is not remapped. Read errors on a sector will not remap the sector (since it might be readable later); instead, the drive firmware remembers that the sector needs to be remapped, and remaps it the next time it's written.[22]
You should run either checkdisk or if your laptop manufacturer has a utility that's great too. I know the VAIO F has a utiltity that runs outside of windows. Took 4hrs for my 500GB HDD, but it successfully reallocated a sector that was causing significant problems for me. -
some other opinions pls??thx!

Check it's condition regularly: if it shows more bad sectors throw it away. -

However, once you're aware a disk has problems, you should be conscientious of that in future use. More may occur, and it can snowball.
...Or it may never happen again. Just back up your valued data regularly, if you don't already do so. -
So did you read anything and care to respond? Anseio made some very good suggestions, and you never responded to him. Did you do anything or did it do as he said? Response is a good thing when you post a problem on a forum expecting answers. Others may have similar issues. Let us know how it was fixed. Ansieo I agree with what you first suggested, just sorry there was no answer to you replies. Thanks for trying at least.
