I find it very intriguing. I am currently using this system. It seems very convenient. I was just wondering if anyone else use it. now im not using it.. but on my new laptop, its very fun to use though its quicker to type and just go about computing the conventual way.
it can come in usedful especially if you;d like to rest your eyes and dictate an essay... its very smart, though at times it can get confused... reminds me of mercedes benz's voice command system used in the S-Class...

anyone else use it? i dont think people really care for it cuz i discovered it myself rather reading about it on the forum.

It was one of the first features I tried out on my new Dell XPS m1330 when I received it with vista. I enjoyed using it, and impressed my family members by talking to my notebook and having it do things. All in all, I got kinda bored with putting up with the consistent inaccuracy in the speech to text during dictation.

I like using it, it's got some inaccuracy, but hey, it'll get improved over time.

    Makes things convenient..

...if only it was good enough to dictate papers, that would be great.

the speech software takes up too much resource in my opinion...

Just type in "speech" in the start menu.

this might be useful for my 10 page paper coming up... i dont mind some inaccuracy because ill go back through and fix it.. ;)

I think i heard somewhere that 3rd party programs are better... although they cost like $700

    It's spot-on accurate...

....if you speak two words every 5 seconds.

But seriously, if you speak slowly it'll pick things up (slower than normal).
