I had it on here for a while when Win 10 was released but it ran like a dog. None of the top keys like brightness etc work. Has that all been fixed.?

So I shouldnt have a problem, its actually 2011 I just found out, 2620m i7, 4GB Ram, 5400RPM (Pro? why didnt they use 7200rpm drives lol).

Do all the keys work at the top now?

Im a bit worried it might grind to a halt on this system :). Last time we intsalled it a year ago, thats exactly what it did eventually, it became painfully slow.

Apple did not release Windows 10 drivers for the 2011 MacBook Pro. You could try the ones for Windows 8.1 using the same download procedure I linked to above, but there's no guarantee that they'll work. If they don't, you're SOL as far as W10 goes.

Your asking the wind to give you updates that will never happen. Windows will not release drivers for anything past 2015 not will the hardware manufacture especially if they aren't selling that hardware anymore.

Most of the basic drivers will be installed by the operating system, but the MacBook-specific items, such as the keyboard hotkeys, camera, and trackpad are not going to work because it's on Apple to provide those drivers. They have not, nor are they going to, provide them. So you can either use Windows 10 without that functionality, or go back to Windows 7/8.1, which are supported. Those are your two options, take it or leave it.

Well I think 2012 MBP is the oldest MBP officially supporting Win 10 by Boot Camp.

That said, I once helped my friend load Win 10 on his early 2011 MBP, installed Boot Camp Assistant and all drivers have been installed. Top keys seemed to work as far as I can remember, though I had to press a certain key at the same time, kinda like "Fn" key in most Windows laptops.
