Ok so I have Vista Home Premium installed as the default OS from my laptop and I have the Vista Ultimate DVD. I just want the extra features from the Ultimate package, but I don't want to clean install since I don't want to lose my programs and data. If I just load the Ultimate install CD in Home Premium, can I just add these features through the upgrade option?

Log into windows Vista, take Vista install DVD (or Ultimate install DVD as you've called it), insert Vista install DVD into drive, let it run setup.exe, select install now, select upgrade option, sit back and wait.
Simple as that. It take a few hours but you won't lose any installed apps or any data at all, all your settings are preserved and you'll be upraded to Ultimate.
You do need a key for Ultimate though otherwise you won't be able to activate it... -
Ok thanks! I just wanted to make sure when I installed, it didn't mess up the stuff already installed
I actually have the install thing in the background lol.
Have Vista HP, easy upgrade to Ultimate?
