My brother just got his XPS and it came with a Vista 64 disk. I have 32. Can I just reinstall my operating system and update to 64 drivers with my current 32 license?

As long as you use your own license, there are no problems with using whichever media you use to install Windows Vista.

If you have a valid 32Bit license, you have a valid 64Bit license.

There have been issues with OEM licenses though...
I believe it is possible to resolve the problem with Microsft customer support staff - to be exact, the activation via the internet may fail and you will then have to speak to a customer support advisor.

About drivers - find them before you try to instal - although 64Bit support is getting better, it is still not perfect.

It shouldn't be too difficult to find drivers for use with Vista 64-bit anymore. Vista64 use has grown considerably, most drivers from most companies are available in the 64-bit flavor.
