This is very simple, there is no catch, just tell us if you have downgraded from Vista to XP?

I use both systems. I don't plan on ever getting rid of Vista, however. In fact, I find myself logging into Vista more than XP recently.

Yes, I have because I don't especially find Vista's UI appealing. In fact, when I see it at the store, it kind of makes me yearn for Windows XP. I don't know why, but when I get my new laptop, I am immediately loading Windows XP back on it. I just don't find Vista very appealing to me.

yes, i´m currentlyy running xp64. it´s rockstable and bulletproof. no problem with big assemblies in maya, rhino or any other cad program, huge renderings in maxwell render, mental ray, vray are working fine .... overall i´m very happy with the downgrade. simulation software is running fine. and photoshop is a dream. no hickups or bluescreens for me.

btw, i´m testing server2008 as a workstation os right now. it needs some tweaking, but it´s faster and more stable out of the box than vista.

I downgraded to xp, because my favorite game ffxi only runs with ancient old drivers in vista, which makes all my other games play like crap. Gaming performance is close besides ffxi, but I could definitely tell load times went up.

No, I very much like Vista. I think Aero is pretty cool, even if it is kind of gimicky.

I did for awhile, but then I reinstalled Vista again. My only issue is the scratchy audio, thanks to ancient Conexant AC-Link drivers...........

The issue is related to the poor audio card, not with the OS.

Nope, upgraded from XP to Vista on my desktop though.

Never had any probems, and have been running it for over a year now.

I do like the Linux espcially the Ubuntu. The only thing I didn't like was no Bioshock, Crysis, of Half-Life.

I have dual booting with Ubuntu (HDD0) and XP (HDD1) in one of my laptops, I'm using Grub as booting manager, it works perfectly.

I have recently downgraded to xp, because I often use older programmes or games that do not work very well on Vista.
However, I miss Vista a bit. It looks so much better and is easier to use (imo) than xp. I also have the impression that xp takes more time when opening programmes than vista.

I wish Vista had the compatibility of XP. :(
