I upgraded, but I did not completely get rid of XP. I run both.

Yes, but using both at the moment.
Will ditch XP soon though, I got tired of the looks. Sadly the performance boost will go with it :D

Depends what you mean by upgraded. Either:

    1. Actually installed Vista over XP on a computer. No.
    or
    2. Use Vista over XP but only on a new computer loaded with Vista. Yes.

Actually, that is definitely valid. I didn't install Vista over XP. I just added Vista to a new HDD on the same computer.

I have not used 32-bit Windows in any constructive way on a PC of my own since January 2007. I have either been on XP64 or Vista x64. Flip-flopped a little but I have settled with Vista x64 on my Sager 5793 laptop. I run XP64 on my gaming desktop, when I get around to upgrading that thing I plan to put Vista x64 on it as well.

It seems to be the overall conensus, once Vista is working stable not many people think going back to other OS.

I tried it at work in order to implement it, was not satisfied with it and my 4 pcs at home still have XP. So I voted NO. As soon as my A1 arrives I will put XP.

You should define what you mean by upgrade.

Yes. My XPS 200 orig. came with XP Home. I upgrade to Pro and ran it for a year. After playing with a laptop that came with Vista basic I decided to try basic on my desktop. I liked the looks and upgraded the ram to support Vista. My bro was given several Dell Ultimate disks by dell and he gave me one, ever since its been nothing but Vista for me on my desktop.

Vista was about "there" sometime last year.... sp1 pushed it on over the edge.

But like American cars, once you have a "bad" image, it is hard to shake.

Vista really was garbage when it first came out in Jan 07... I was one of the first people to have it... oh, it was bad.

Now I use xp simply because I have so much software to move over to vista... I'm already using vista on my laptop... was going to move my desktop over this past weekend, but had family visit.

I'd setup in a dual boot and try it out before making a big move... long as all your drivers work, vista should be ok. Some people don't like vista though... even though they acknowledge it is stable... like my cousin... he would rather have xp simply because xp is good enough. And he also owns a copy of vista... so there you go... gets down to personal preference as well....

I didn't upgrade my computer per se, I purchased a new laptop that came with Vista. Does that count as upgrading (for this poll)?

Lol, I had much more BSOD with XP than with Vista, but again it all depends how you use your PC, if you like to try things is certain that you will get some BSOD, but if you open the compueter just to see the time and date, then even windows 95 is ok :D
