So I've used Vista and Windows 7 but I've now decided to revert back to XP as my main OS because the new ones just gave too much problems.
What a difference in speed after getting use to Vista! and no more problems.
I won't be leaving XP till its dead now!
I often wonder why I went to Vista now lol.

And no my computer specs are not crap, Q6600 @3Ghz SLI

Which OS have people settled on and what "bugs" you about the other OS's

For me it was compatablity with software I needed, Vista ran them but just not as good as XP
UAC gave problems enabled, and other problems when disabled, lol what a joke!
Bootup and shutdown times increased, especially shutdown times, which can take up to minutes! (My guess is all that flushing of RAM that it so likes to use for pre-cache!)
I don't care what anyone says about game speeds, XP is faster period!
Thank bananas I will never see that Recovery from Display Driver message again!
I don't care how much space you can buy for cheap!, 10gig for an OS is just too much when XP does it with 2gig or less! (Theres a reason why XP is faster and this is one of them!)
    Roll on MSDOS NextGen!.....

Will not vote for 7 until I lay my hands on the retail version. Loving Vista now, you just need to know what to disable out of box and you're good to go.

XP for me. Also a downgrader (although really, upgrader would be a more accurate term). I have the Win7 beta installed as well, and I like it more than Vista, but I'm not sure it has actually fixed all the problems that caused me to detest Vista. I think I like its features more than Vista's features.

I probably will stick with XP long-term, though. If I can ascertain Win7 doesn't suffer from the problems that made Vista horrible to deal with, I may switch. But XP just works, and does everything I need it to do well. I can even get many of Win7's features for it from third-party applications. So Win7 will really have to be bug-free to justify paying for it, and I am not confident it will be. It's based on Vista, after all.

Viva XP! I see no reason why it won't be an excellent OS to be running in 2011!

32-bit, by the way. Which costs me 512 MB of memory out of the 4 GB I have. But Win7 64-bit would cost 768 MB from increased RAM usage over XP 32-bit, so 64-bit doesn't actually help there at all.

Don't forget the bias in the poll from the site you're sampling. Overall XP/Vista market share is somewhere around 64/22% respectively right now, with Mac OS about 10% and Windows 2000 about 1.5%, all others below 1%. Source.

Disclaimer: I used Vista for five months. So it's not like I just read that it wasn't very good and never tried it. Although I probably would have been happier if I had.

Vista -> Win 7 (liked Vista but had to reinstall, figured I'd try the beta) and Linux for myself.

Win 7/Ubuntu desktop , XP Notebook.

I would pick Windows 7 if I had to choose one out the three.

XP, mainly because of software compatibility problems with Vista 64. I did see some really good deals on Vista 64 laptops at my local computer stores, so if it wasn't for the compatibility problems, I would have gotten a Vista 64 machine instead of custom ordering my Lenovo T61.
