I have a Toshiba U205 running XP Pro. It crashed on me a couple of days ago and now I can not access any devices, network driivers etc. I can open up most of my programs and see all my documents etc but can't dowwnload to a back up drive or get on the web. Also no previous system restore points shown. When I access device manager it shows nothing there. Tried too many different fixes with same results. Any ideas before I have to get a new machine (i need to be up and running again quickly for business) Also, in worst case if I get a replacement hard drive of a bigger capacity (200 instead of 100) could I use the Toshiba OE disks to restore. Any help greatly appreciated

what have you tried? did you try the permissions on the Enum key in the registry? Did you check your services to see what is running?
