I accidentally deleted all my movies few months back.

I used a software called 'Recuva' to get it all back. its free

also 'Undo Delete' software works as well. its free as well.

Search for them in Google & download n use it ASAP.

The more time u waste the lesser the chances of recovering all songs.

    Best of luck.

I thought you couldn't just copy and paste music on an iPod?

There are programs out there to recover deleted files from your HDD (assuming you didn't write anything over).
I don't know of any by heart but I'm sure some other people would know.

And 1 more thing , my newer laptop( Dell inspiron 1720 with windows vista) HDD got corrupted for some reason, its not even starting for some reason and all of the system recovery programs dont work . My question is that if i reinstall windows vista on it and format the HDD in doing so , will the programs like undelete by able to recover stuff like my photos ?

if you reformat your HDD there is no way you can recover old data.

what i suggest doing is backing up your music folders to DVD disks every now and then. i don't have much music (only have like 10 gig or so), so its like 3 or so disks. this way if your HDD wipes out, you still have the music.

You should be careful with that Delete key.

If your HDD got corrupted on its own, I wouldn't even consider reinstalling Vista. Send that thing back.

Theoretically it is possible, but I am pessimistic on your chances. Good luck

By reinstalling Vista you are writing to the drive...chances are good the data will be permanently lost.

Get a USB to SATA adapter & connect that HD of yours to another computer.

Now copy & paste every file on the new computer.

    Hooray! no data lost.

U can also use this method to scan your HDD for errors.
..i had a thread on it..just search in Windows OS section

You'll have to open up your notebook and take it out. It's possible and shouldn't be too hard to do.

You probably did that with the software you use to burn your images on the CD/DVD. When you backup your things do it as a data CD/DVD.

you can get data back... even after reformating and reinstalling os. it just makes the sectors of your harddrive open for the most part
getting info back then just becomes a matter of how much money your willing to spend to get those magnetic charges of data back xD

EasyRecovery is a good file recovery program, but when i almost lost 200gb of music and 2gb of photos because of a corrupted drive, GetDataBack over at http://www.runtime.org/ worked like a charm. It retreived everything back, with file names intact.

You just need to connect the hard drive to another computer and run whatever you wish to attempt to recover it.
