    Hi

I have an a PDF document that i need to sign, i have always done this on my older PC with libre Office by creating a 'box', writing my signature in a 'box' with mouse pointer and then simply adding/dragging it to the below line. I can not find thid option anymore on my new PC, latest LibreOffice?

    ' Signature - ___________________ '

I have also tried File>Digital Signatures which displays a blank box with nothing to select as below -

If i then select -Sign Document, i get this box that allows me to not select or do anything?

If i select 'Start Certificate Manager' i get as below -

Anyone please help, it was VERY simple on my old laptop as i simply used the first option and dragged my signiture that it allowed to to draw into a box (i had several to select from, not digital type, but as if you wrote it with a pointer in paint etc)

Here is the doc with details blanked out.

I just create a signature graphic using a photo program then import that to the area in your document.

Yea i tried that, just done my sig in paint, cropped it, nut when i added the image it was a my sig in a big white box. looked stupid.
On my old lappy you could just create a signatures with no background/transparent and drag/drop them wherever needed.

Surely that would not of got rid of the function, it seems a different king of LibreOffice as well the older version was green and did not sabe in ODC format?? I could not save as pdf?

Big white box? Didn't you set the background to transparent? If paint doesn't have that feature then use another photo program.

I could not find that in paint, what program would do that? I did search, plus i did not want to install, try it, see it fail and uninstall leaving junk on my PC.

What i am still confused about is that my the last time i used to do this this Libre had the option to add signature, a box would just pop up and you could write it in, you could as as many as you wanted for different people/documents.

    It was great and simple.

I have posted on LibreOfffice Forum but got no replies.

    Thanks

Paint does transparent images. Just save your file as a gif file. Insert that gif into Libre.
