I removed from my machine quicktime, itunes and safari through the Windows uninstaller but can't remove the 15 quicktime.msi and safari.msi iles on my machine.

When I try do delete them, I receive a Windows access denied message. How can I remove these files?

Make sure quicktimes, itunes, and safari aren't running in your processes. If they are, you will not be able to delete all the files.

As best as I can tell there are no processes from Apple running.

Try command prompt with "del /F" ("del /?" for options). If Vista, right-click the command-prompt icon and choose "Run as administrator" (if UAC is on). Also be logged in as an admin user.

Also: shift-ctrl-esc, processes tab, sort by name, and double-check that these processes are NOT running: iTunesHelper, iPodService, qttask, and AppleMobileDeviceService. (Actually, come to think of it, you're trying to remove the installer (.msi) files, so it shouldn't really matter if this stuff is running or not.)

Another thing to try is right-click one of the files, select Properties, clear the Read-only attribute (if selected), then go to Security tab, and check permissions.

Thanks Swarmer. Changing the file properties security permissions worked perfectly except for a bunch of quicktime folders where I tried to do it en mass and now I can do anything to them.

I freed up 1GB of hard drive space.
