So I just got an old inspiron 6000. Its my temp until I get SOMETHING new. ;)

I was thinking about reinstalling XP. Is this possible without the CD? I want a clean XP, it is kind of cluttered the way it is now. But I dont have the CD.

Also, how would I go about Dual booting my laptop. Ubuntu :)

You could make the CD using nLite, if your C:\I386 folder still exists.

ubuntu has a guided installation, where it will make the partitions automatically

btw this should be in the software section

Get an .iso from a ahem source and use that you have an activation code so it shouldnt be a problem

nope if you want to make it really easy you can use wubi, however its worth the experince to do it yourself if you want to practice use, innotek virtualbox and install it in a virtal machine not that itll run anywhere near native speeds on a 6000 but either of those two methods really cant harm your xp partition if you need links im sure i can dig them up btw both are free.
