Well, I've downloaded the latest drivers for my machine, and turned on the SLI mode to AFR2.. Only one things left, getting rid of some un-needed processes.
I've looked on plenty of websites that say, hey turn this off, disable this, etc. etc, but every once in awhile my comp would shut itself down due to some necessary process not running. Here is what I have running in the background, if anyone could help me figure out what to disable, it would be much appreciated.

Do you think maybe you could give us a screenshot of your processes window and organize them alphabetically? It would make things easier. Also, we could see the description for each and better help you.
But off the top of my head...
BTTray.exe is for bluetooth. If you're not always using it, then it's unnecessary to have it running. End it and also disable it from loading during startup from msconfig.
GoogleToolbarNot...: Do you use Google toolbar? For IE? Use FireFox and get some good addons. See this.
As for the rest, you can google them to see what they are. I recommend you go into msconfig and disable programs from loading on startup that you don't need. That will help with the number of processes you have running. -
the following programs can be killed...... u can go to msconfig (run>>msconfig) and permanently disable from startup if u want........
BTStackserver.exe - must be bluetooth - useless
BTTray.exe (User) - bluetooth - no need
ah.scr (User) - some kinda screensaver kill it (i have a doubt whether this is malware.....as it keeps repeating.......google it and give an antivirus scan)
NMIndexStoreSvr... (User) - nero indexer - highly useless
ctfmon.exe (User)- this is the most irritating....u cant actually kill it....it keeps coming up again even if u disabled it....
GoogleToolbarNot... (User)- disable if u r not using google desktop
NMBgMonitor.exe (User) - nero "crap" monitor- higly useless
iFrmewrk.exe- provides advanced config for intel wireless turn it off - not essential
ZCfgSvc.exe- config for intel pro set - useless according to me
PDVDServ.exe- power dvd server- highly useless
ohh.......i have run outta time now.........will type the rest when i am back -
ok back again......
well ah.scr is not malware its the program for alienware screensaver......kill it without hesitation
FKC.exe (User).......i think this is reported spyware http://www.spywaredata.com/spyware/malware/fkc.exe.php
kill it......remove it form msconfig.........search for it using windows search (look in hidden and system files) and delete it.......or use some antispyware
agrsmmsg.exe is a process installed alongside SoftModem Assistant and provides additional configuration options for these devices. This program is a non-essential process........i recommend killing it
BisonTrayIcon.exe ......... this is also non essential....its a program for ur webcam......kill it
RTHDCPL.exe......this is realtek audio control panel......its ur preference to kill it or not......however i highly recommend killing it
btwdins.exe......is also about bluetooth......i recommend a kill
steam.exe........ is a utility used to test patches for the Half-Life Valve game.......i dont think this is essential unless u play half life or counterstrike in multiplayer over the net
RichVideo.exe.........a highly useless cyberlink program....shoot at sight
PnkBstrA.exe ...... is basically a multiplayer gaming stuff......however it is many a time reported as malware.....the legitimacy of this process is unknown...if u dont much play online kill it
EvtEng.exe.......is a non essential process for wireless adapter.....i donno much abt this one however i recommend a kill
ok thats all.....i think u will have a better performance after removing these stuff -

Wow, 55 processes, and you're worried? I have around 69 processes and used to have over 90.
-
I don't see why the transition from XP to Vista requires a rediculous amount of added processes. Please someone explain!! Crash??
-
Because XP is a 2001 OS meant to run on Pentium 4 1.2GhZ while Vista is a 2007 OS meant to run on dual core cpus.

You can put steam to manual, there is no need to run it when you're not using it. I'm not familiar with alot of those though, so I can't help you too much. Throwing things into manual work well most of the time though. I'm down to 42 processes at idle with antivirus.
Help me get maximum performance!
