I load up Services.msc to disable services that are not exactly required. Makes startup times a lot faster. The problem is there is no "disable" option for services that are "automatic". The only option is "stop" which I clicked, then restarted the system, to find the same service running again.

    Any ideas?

Right click on the service you want to stop and then click on properties.
Go down to the drop down box wher it says "Automatic". From there click on the drop down arrow and then click "Disable". This will then disable the service from running at start up.

Right click Automatic service, then Stop. When the stopping process is finished, right click again and select Properties. Next to Startup type, select Disabled from drop menu. Click Ok.

    OK? ;)
