I only know of 2 things that make that check box grayed out.
1. You are not loged in as that user.
2. You are not using NTFS
If its not one of those 2 then I got no idea sorry. -
I think Acer usually has the drives partitioned as FAT32 by default.

Stupid Acer wiped my hard drive and set it back to fat32 to fix a HEATING problem.. stupid idiots... -
This is usually the case for all the repair process.They wipe the whole data because it might be very troublesome to try and revive or reinstall windows.They just throw in their recovery disks and BOOM ! The whole data is gone :laugh:
