guys, i've been trying to figure this out but i can't seem to find a solution:
I got a 640m running Windows XP Pro.
I want to change the icon when i pop in a data CD-ROM on my optical drive. The default i get is a small cd icon with "cd-rom" on it. What I want to happen is to change that default icon and retain the default drive icon. Basically, i just wanna change the the icon that comes out when I pop in whatever type of optical media (cd-rom, dvd-rom, dvd-rw, etc.).
If anyone of you who know of a way to do this please help me out. I'd prefer using the regedit since i'm more comfortable with it. I also dont want to have to download a software just to do this, regedit will do. Thanks!![]()

I used the Trial version of Microangelo On Display. Just right click on any icon and click appearance.
Also, you can always throw in a Icon picture in any CD and use AutoINF Maker to config it. So you can see a icon of anything you want when you pop in the CD.
