    Hi.

I recently upgraded to The GIMP 2.4.2, and I've been consistently annoyed with the fact that when I cut or copy a selection from an image I have open, and then create a new document, the new document is not the dimensions of the selection on the clipboard.

This is particularly annoying because when I was using The GIMP 2.2.13, The GIMP would automatically input the dimensions of a clipboard selection for a new document.

Does anyone know if there is an option to enable this?

Please help, and thanks in advance. :p

I copy, then use Edit -> Paste as -> New Image. This creates a new image document with the contents of the clipboard. I know it's not the same as what you're asking, but is close.

I haven't used 2.2 in years -- I had been using the 2.3dev version almost since it's been out, and I can't recall when what you're describing last worked. I'm not aware of an option to turn it on.

Oh, thanks! That's an acceptable workaround! :p
