Hello everyone. I have received my newely purchased clevo np670re3 today. Since I didn't get an os on I am trying to install it myself. I've done it in the past , no issues. But here is a thing ... The machine has no cd-rom.

I've created a bootable USB with win 7. Here is the problem I run into... See attachments. It thinks as if I am booting from a CD. Obviously there are no drivers to be installed and I can't proceed. Was searching online for a solution, bit haven't seen anything similar.
Any inside would be highly appreciated.

Are you using a USB 3 port? If possible, try a USB 2 port - USB 3 requires drivers that post-date Win 7. Or you can try and modify the installation media to include the USB 3 driver - google should turn up some useful guides for this.

New laptop, so all USB ports are 3.0. Nothing in the bios regarding USB either. It looks like it finds win 7 files on USB, loads them, but completely doesn't see any flash drives that I insert ( being 3.0 and all ).

Going to try and copy 3.0 USB controller drivers on to one of the ssds from the Linux off of a flash drive. And try and load them from there.

Oh and BTW , created a win 10 USB, loaded right up, no hiccups. But won't install this mess of an os.

Try USB2.0 drive. Some USB3 controllers/ports go automatically to USB2 mode when they detect USB2 drive.

Gave up on win 7 for now. 1 method did not work. Need a working laptop now.
Installed win 10. No issues. Half of the drivers were installed by os. It's fast , snappy. Only issue is telemetry and stupid useless bloatware. Ran oo shutup 10. We'll see how it works.

Well I am no fan of W10 but it's very smart to run O&O Shutup 10 so you should have no problem unless it loads some bad drivers.
