I got My G1S about 2 weeks and have already had enough with Vista... So anyways my computer came partitioned into 2 drives (80GBx2). Anyways I have an XP CD and I boot to my CD drive with the intention to install it on the second partition that has nothing on it, however I get an error saying that there is no hard disk installed? Why is this? Also if anybody could link me to another thread that gives a step by step that would be awesome, I couldnl't find one.

You likely have a SATA drive, and no SATA drivers in your XP disk. You can either use the floppy disk method to install the drivers, or download nLite, slipstream the drivers into your XP disk, and use it to boot as normal.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
I've got a relevant question here:
If you load the drivers via a floppy drive, the chances are that the floppy drive will be USB... in that case is it possible to load the SATA drivers onto a USB stick and use the floppy drive method... treating the USB stick as a floppy drive? -
On Vista yes, but on XP, no.
