Hi everyone,
So I got my new computer , and for some reason my outlook refuses to sync with my gmail.
The error message I get is:
Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for [email protected].' reported error (0x800CCCD2) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for [email protected]. Error: An IMAP command failed. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'
I have 3 gmail accounts set up through outlook, and for each of them I just went through the normal process of setting up an email (they automatically did all the settings, just had to input my emails/pws).
I'm primarily looking to use it for the calendar, but would love it if I can get rid of this error message every time outlook tries to send/receive. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

[1] Do you have IMAP enabled in gmail?
[2] ensure you have outlook configured correctly https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78799
[3] It might be that there is just too many emails to sync. There's a couple of things you can do to fix this.
In gmail, go to settings:
[a]
go to tab:Forwarding POP/IMAP
check off the box for Limit IMAP folders to contain no more than this many messages
go to tab:Lables
For All Mail, uncheck the box for Show in IMAP -
1) Yes, IMAP is enabled under gmail settings (as is POP)
2) Setting up my gmails with outlook required me to do no steps to configure it. I only added my email and password, and outlook did the rest.Looking through the settings, it looks like what outlook's configuration for my gmail accounts were correct.
3) A. I limited the messages to 1000, which was the default when I clicked to limit it.
B. For Labels, All mail - I unchecked it.
Thanks for the info. I'm running send/receive all and will let you know if any of this helped.. -
any other advice? Tried the above and it syncs ssometimes, but errors sometimes...
