You Can use the same Serial Key to install 64Bit version of Vista Home Prem mate
and its Free too but if you don't have 64bit media then Try asking HP they might be able to send you one or you get it from MS for 10$

you can also just borrow a disc from a friend and use your license key, or download an image from the internet and use your key.
in my case, dell sent me an install cd for free. -
Yea , you can do that too but Downloading from Internet is Risky :rolleyes2:
-
why do you want 64-bit, they didnt install it in the first place for a reason you know.
-
you can download it from the microsoft site......thats not risky, but yea point taken, get it from a trusted source.
maybe he installed 4gb after buying it?
regardless of the ram, 64 bit vista at the moment is more secure than the 32 bit version -
64 bit is better all around, even if you do not have over 3GB of memory. -
get vista x64 if you can
-
It didn't come installed because the 32-bit Home Premium is so much more commonplace, that it's less of a hassle to install and cheaper by a tiny margin for HP. Simple as that.
Here's to hoping that Microsoft will press vendors to make 7 HomePrem 64-bit the most common incarnation of the OS. -
Hmmm,
Note on paper which software you really need and software what is secondairy.
Games, if you play games; note which game you play(ing) and use Google to find out the vendor of the game and read their perspectives.
Does all your software run in 32-bit, stay with 32-bit
If you have a notebook with 4 Gb of RAM. 2,85 - - - 3,48 GB is usable, how often do you reach that limit?
When playing the newest games at highest/insane settings went to 64-bit, but here a warning:
Seek out all the drivers need and download multiple versions. There's no sorry afterwards.
I'm Dutch and I've done high school, but 10 years ago to graduation.
My English is not so bad, I hope you understand my thoughts?
It is not that easy. -
Oke,
The difference is not super, but when you have data to protect it suits enough with Windows Defender and Avira AntiVir (one of the best). If you don't open unknown applications, pictures or movies the risk of infection is so small, neglectable.
That's my experience. -
Rogresalor, no offense, but I am having a hard time getting what you mean to say.
Drivers are almost never an issue, as in order to get your driver signed by Microsoft for Vista, there must be both a 32 and 64 bit version. As for software - sure, much does not come in 64 bit yet, but it's not like any 32 bit application won't be able to run on Vista X64. -
Not every driver suits. Some are unstable and in combination with another drivers you should find the right one.
Help, 32 bit to 64 bit.
