    hey guys,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post but I can use some help

I have 2 identical acer aspire one zg5 pearl white netbooks

and the built in recovery partition installs then ends with a blue screen

so i got the recovery discs but both my serial numbers on the bottom of both

netbooks are rubbed off, so when i called microsoft they said in order to

generate me new serials i needed

a PART number that starts with X for example x05-18910, if anyone knows what

this part number is for this acer model (windows xp home edition version 2002)

    i would be truly greatful

I had this issue a couple of years ago with a Vista disk, I had an OEM disk of Vista but the product key label had come off the case, on the disk itself was the part number which they asked for, I gave it to them and they gave me a new product key.

Looking at my laptop now, there is a part number on the COA where the product key is, and it looks like this X**-**** (obviously with numbers), is this what you have pulled from the recovery disks, or have you managed to actually recover the product key?
