I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 a few days ago... When I wake my laptop up from sleep my download speeds drop to about ten percent of their normal levels (like from 25Mbps down to 2.5Mbps), but my upload speeds remain constant... This is all according to Speedtest.net... If I restart my laptop my download speeds go back to normal... Any ideas? :(

If you mean did I have IE8 open while it was sleeping, no... I always close all open items in the taskbar before putting the laptop to sleep...

it might be the network cards power settings.

You can find them in the advanced section of the driver properties. Sometimes devices wake up with out switching back to full power.

This was causing me to get DL speeds of like 5Mbps all the time (there is a thread in the HP section about it)...

I looked at what "Speed and Duplex" was set to, and it is set to "Auto Negotiation" both after sleep and upon restart... Is this what you are talking about?

There is a "Power Management" tab, and "allow the computer to turn off the device to save power" is checked, and "allow this device to wake the computer" is not checked...
