I'm looking for a program that lets me create maps of different geographic areas, e.g. Asia or North America, and then change the color of territories to suit my needs so that I can paste them into PowerPoint. Some maps like google maps lable too much, mainly I just need the name of the Country, with its State/Province and major cities. I also need to be able to zoom in on certain areas. The emphasis is on something simple, not a Geographic Information Management System.
SmartDraw (smartdraw.com) has a map feature, but it costs $200, and includes alot of flow chart diagram tools I wouldn't need.
Any Ideas?

We use Dundas Maps at work, and this product allows data to be combined with map details. Different versions integrate with ASP.NET, Microsoft Reporting Services, etc.
But the full, detailed interface can be a bit confusing to work with (is for me, anyway). This is not a trivial tool. -
there are piles of templates for powerpoint that give you this. google search is your friend.
