    I have a dell xps m1530 with windows vista and i dont like windows vista I did the windows adviser said i can get windows 7 home edition and i saw it today at walmart for 110 and was wondeirng is installing windows 7 easy to install as far as finding items for it after installing windows 7 I got my comp at compusa so i dont have the drivers cd's with me my question is Installing Windows 7 Easy ? I installed windows xp on my destkop but it was easy and i but it was from windows 95 to xp so wasnt hard just not to sure for windows vista to windows 7 ty Any links to how to do it be great ty

    Doing a clean install is recommended by a lot of people, but I don't find the need to if you are upgrading from Vista Home to Windows 7 home.

    I upgraded from Vista Home to Windows 7 Ultimate (I chose to do the "upgrade" and not the "clean install"), and it worked out perfect.

    It installed all of my folders, including my pictures and music, and it installed all of the applications I had, as well as all of the drivers for my computer.

    I hate zero trouble with it.

    I did an upgrade from Vista to W7 and it found all my drivers with no problem. I would say that's the easiest route. But a clean install isn't hard either, so it's kind of up to you.

    if you have the experience it is best to do a clean format.

    tyvm for the help I deside to get windows 7 this thrusday and I do a clean format when i take it to best buy to see why my hard drive wants to crash on me i keep getin a blue screen once inawhile then I will install windows 7 tyvm
