Hi all! I have an EEE pc 901 and the main drive only has 4gb. I want to be able to hibernate my netbook, but it says I don't have enough disk space to do it. Does anyone know if it is possible for me to set the location of the hibernate data to another hard drive? My EEE has a second SSD that's 8gb. Thanks in advance..

You can't, it has to be stored in C:\hiberfil.sys

Why not just use the 8gb HDD for your OS? That should allow you to hibernate.

Darn.. That's a pity.. I did consider installing XP onto the other one, but I've been told the 4gb one is significantly faster than the other ssd installed. Oh well, thanks for the help all!

Do you think it would be possible to create some sort of symbolic link at C:\hiberfil.sys that points to the other drive? I have no experience with symbolic links in windows and I've never tried to do anything like this.

You will need to modify windows to redirect the file into a different drive or somehow trick it. I havent heard of such a thing so far.

The downsides of having 4gb ram =/

Like I said, you may be able to trick windows with a symbolic link, however it seems that symbolic linking is not very well supported on windows. There are a number of people using special software for symbolic linking on the EEE under windows XP, however. Perhaps you should go search the EEE forums.
