Coming from the land of desktops, Hibernation is a concept of which I am a newbie.

I was wondering if it is recommended to close programs before going into hibernation. I haven't noticed a problem with Office Programs but when I run things from a Virtual Disk Drive, it is kind of like Gage from the Pet Sematary when he came back from the dead. It "just ain't right".

Thank you in advance for any bits/factoids of knowledge.

    Just to clarify my question...

When I run a program from a Virtual CD ROM using Virtual Drive, and I leave the program on but close the lid to hibernate, I get some issues: The program running on the virtual drive hangs up.

I am going to be a bit Schizophrenic and answer my own question by replying to...myself! [:I]LOL! Actually I posted this question before trying to just Google it. Here is the answer:

I usually leave any program open that can be left alone, such as a text editor, browser, IM, programing environment (i.e Microsoft Visual Studio, Netbeans), etc. but close things like games and movies.

I'd leave anything open you want, but be sure to save anything first that would be detrimental to loose; just in case your computer crashes comeing out of hibernation.

I don't know what was happening with my system but I have no prior experience with the McAffee Security package so it was probably causing conflicts for me. No problems since I uninstalled it. There must be some settings in the firewall or something that I was not aware that was creating issue with thet Virtual CD, keep a program running on Virtual CD and the antivirus stuff. No issues anymore. Thanks for the advice.
