    I have been messing around with ready-boost and wanted to stop the drive showing up in computer, this might also be useful if you have recovery drives showing in computer and would like to hide them.

    This requires you to make a simple edit the registry, but make a backup in case you mess-up.

    I made a TrueCrypt partition, and hid the partition by going to the disk management console and remove the drive letter. After that, it does not show up under windows explorer or any other programs until I mount that partition. That's another way to prevent access.

    very old news, tweak UI has been doing this, and doing it safely for 10 or so years.

    I did this before, but the ready-boost did not work after removing the drive letter, but this reg hack just hides the drive.

    Years since i used Tweak UI, and did not know it had that option, and i am not likely to be the only one, so this thread will be useful to those who do not know.
