    Hello

While I was changing the behavior of some program icons to be hidden when not clicked, I noticed that in the list there are a lot of programs that I have deleted and still are listed.

How can I totally get rid of these?

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards

When you uninstall an application it will take its taskbar icon with it. You can't just go an delete folders though, I'm not sure if that's what you did or not. Perhaps you can provide more clarity on what you did and the past and current bahavior of those icons.

    hey thanks for the comment

I make it a oint when un installing a program I'm not gonna use anymore, I do it from the Add and Remove Program.

At least the programs listed on the list mentioned in this tread were all deleted with this method....and not jsut deleting the folder!!!

    Any other comments?

I think you are talking about the list that is in your task bar properties. As far as I know, which I haven't research it that much, there isn't a way too delete/edit the list of programs that have had icons in your task bar.

You would think that if you deleted/removed a program that it would be edited from the list, but that isn't the case.

    that's it

i m refering to the list of programs that have their icon near the clock while running. The list can be found from Control Panel> Task Bar and Start Menu, and under Taskbar Tab, pressing the Custimize Button...

as you said I thought that if I deleted/removed a program it would be edited from the list.

Ok if that's the case I should no worry about it!

Thanks a lot for your help!!

You can also keep programs from starting up when you turn on the computer using start/run/msconfig/ look for a startup tab. this is useful for your cd burning software or programs that you dont want running all the time, freeing up computer resources. And the icons in your "tray" GL

hmm sounds interesting although I'm a bit afraid of screwing up something in the registry.

Do CCleaner take care of all these?
From where can I open Task Manager?

    thanks

No CCleaner doesn't work on this.

If you want an easier way to do it you can try this:
