    How do you do this?

The online manual is only for Trillian 2 and it shows a checkbox for this in the settings, but it's not there in 3.

start Trillian , go to View tab from the menu and choose "hide empty groups".

that only hides groups that are entirely empty. if a group has some people online and some offline it still shows the offline ones as well.

i guess you have to put all of them in one group , thats what i did , put them in General group , and trillian shows only online contacts.
