This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    High pitch beeping upon startup

    anyone know what this means? Is it code for some sort of hard drive damage? It seems to run fine once it's on though. I'm typing on it right now.

    do you have external speakers,or an external sound card?
    it's when it`s detecting them...that`s where the beep comes from. I`ve been having it ever since I plugged them in :)
