So I was thinking of getting a home server so I can access stuff from places.. etc etc etc...., and I just got a few questions.

    1. Obviously is, what product stands out(reasonably priced), and what server edition? the 2003 one or 2008.

    2. How fast/reliable/laggy is streaming music/videos. - speed really matters, would it stutter etc...
    - This would probably depend on network speed too, so what connection/speeds would be needed for stutterless streaming?

    3. Can I use this in place of a slingbox, connect my cable box over and stream it that way (hd box) & speed question above for this also.

    4. Ease of access/back up/multiple users...
    - Do I have to be near/around where the home server actually is, lets say "at home" (if it was set up at home), for the server to backup the laptops, or anytime I'm connected through the internet?

    Thankx.
