    Hi all,
since I cannot make any DVD of recovery because my netbook is without optical driver, how I can make a backup of the very useful "Recovery partition" of my netbook Packard Bell?
May I use CloneZilla, making the image in my external hd and, in the future, restore it or it won't works?
I don't want to make 1:1 clone because I don't want my external to have a partition, I want only a file i.e. AAA.IMG that I can restore If I will need.
    Thank you

Acronis True Image, Paragon Backup & Recovery, Macrium Reflect Pro, SSR 13, all these give you the option to backup specific partitions, including the Recovery partition, anywhere you wish, or full OS partitions backup.
Make sure you acquire a paid version for many reasons.

You do know you can buy a ext USB powered DVD writer for your laptop? They aren't that expensive to have and use if needed for what your doing even if it isn't used often. As for Acronis to use all the backup feature and access larger storage size you will have to buy it to get all the full usage rights.

Just a reminder, once you have the partition backed up, verify that it is restorable. If you have a spare empty drive pop it in and verify. I have seen posts where the partition is corrupt and useless.
NOTE the free version of paragon backup and recovery is full featured and works very well. I am on 2013 but a newer version is available

Wrong, free version of Paragon does not allow creation of WinPE recovery cd and in case of unbootable system or HD drive failure, user is left with nothing.
This is why I mentionned in a previous post that a paid
version of Paragon, or other, is mandatory.
    Hope this helps,

    Regards,

Second Acronis solution. It makes all these backup gobbledegook a simple affair.
Nothing wrong with that is there?

    Hi all,
I solved by virtualizing a fake dvd-burner so I burned the recovery DISKS.
    Thank you
