I have abunch of pictures in different folders. and I know I can organize in different ways by name, date or size and other stuff. but sometimes I like my pictures a little un organized and like to put them where ever I want. cause sometimes I compare pictures side by side. on XP I remember I could drag the files in the folders and put them where ever. its like they are locked or something, and if I drag a file in between another one. it wont go. I have to keep them organized in atleast one of the options in the menu.

What do i do to fix this ?

I can drag them to other folders fine and I know how to drag groups. the problem is, it wont let me organize the files in folders manually how I want, by moving them around.

I can move Icons around fine on my desktop.

In the folder select the View tab and in the drop down window select sort or group by and in those drop down windows select more and there will be a choose details window. This may or may not be of any help.

It is obvious that the software was not written for what you want. The only fix would be for you to figure out how to manipulate there rules. I use the by name and give my files a name that allows me to choose what order they sit in.
