    How can I know which version of Windows 7 is installed ?

    I got a copy from my friend and its says its a final version of Ultimate Windows 7

    How can I know which version of Windows 7 is installed ?

    because i tried to use dxdiag command and it says 7600 built, but i read that the RC and the Final version is 7600.something so how can i know what the EXACT built number

    type in smlgr.vbs -dlv

    Click "start button", type "winver" without the quotes and hit enter.

    That only tells you 7600 and nothing else.

    HBQ is right, though if you get a "file not found" just do Start->Run and paste the following.

    %windir%\System32\slmgr.vbs -dlv

    No. Google was wrong. You have the semi-ultimate version, which is missing all of the cool features. Might as well uninstall, and go with Vista.

    Right click "computer" and click on properties. It will tell you the version and if it is x32 or x64.

    That would be if you trusted leaked updates from Russia rather than getting them from microsoft update. For a supposed expert, you certainly do give some interesting advice. This, you stating that 32 bit and 64 bit are different keys......
