    Is there any way to set it so that vista will automatically turn off aero interface and change to the basic version whenever a specific program such as flash is opened? And change back when the program is closed?

    Thanks for any help.

    if you right click on the shortcut/icon then chose properties there are some options on the compatability tab which you can select to do this.. I can't remember off hand which or what they are called as I'm at work using an XP machine so can't check for you! But I do know that they do exactly what you're looking for. I have my Need for Speed Carbon shortcut set to do that. Photoshop CS3 automatically switches it too, but I didn't have to change anything on that one.

    hey thanks man that actually helped me too i use cad 08 which worked fine but when id go into 3d studio max my viewports would be all white cuss do what he said right click on the shortcut go properties, compatibility, check disable themes and disable desktop composition and if you need to run it in xp mode
