I've managed to turn off the welcome screen in every other situation, but can't figure out how to make my laptop turn on after being in sleep mode directly to my desktop, without having to click my silly little name/icon.

    Is this possible?

    Vista ultimate.

there should be a prompt for password when computer resumes under the power configuration options.

Click on your battery icon > more power options > change plan settings > change advanced power settings > additional settings > require a password on wakeup

That should be the setting you want to change, I think.

    Hope you get it...
