I go into IE7 under tools have deleted all of my temp internet files.
When I go back into tool-->settings-->view files, there are 7,000+ files still in that folder.
Any harm in just deleting everything that is in that folder manually?

ARe the files in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files ? When I clear mine as you did then go back in there are no files, but if I do properties on that folder I see 1330 files and 46 folders in properties (I am viewing hidden files)
Are you also using the default location as I am? Also I am on IE9, not sure if that makes a difference
I also did disk cleanup http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...0-windows-fact-day-thread-11.html#post9225920 with all options checked but this made no difference. -
But when I go into IE/Internet Options/Settings/View Files, it takes me to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files, which has about 400 items in it. -
If the files have extensions like .ico, .xml, .com you can delete them. You may have to boot into safe mode. I am able to see the contents of the folder in windows explorer - but had to copy and paste the path C:\Users\Joe\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files into the address bar at the top of the explorer window.
How come I still have Internet Files, after deleting them?
