The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Wow... someone's in a crabby mood. Your avatar picture even shows it, as that's crab-grass growing on your iMac.

-1 Rep. Shameful. Especially for one that supposedly has a very good reputation here on NBR.

Fanboys will always exist for every OS available. Apple Fanboys are no exception. Can things be done a lot better on Windows? Hell yes. What they really need is a consistent and intuitive UI. They're getting there with Windows 7, but it still needs a lot of work. Mac OS X has got that down and the overall quality really shows because of its attention to detail and consistency.

Anyway, I understand your post, but it won't change anything. There's a fanboy for anything. Just learn to ignore them. You could've also done without the "And of course, the viruses. Let's not talk about viruses and spyware and worms and trojans and what-not. BSoD, explorer.exe dying, anyone?" -- that's just opening yourself to the same crap you want to prevent.

Of course you'd have less problems on Mac's. They are tailored for specific hardware parts. A lot of BSoD's are caused by defected hardware or driver problems. Explorer.exe dying? Uh, what?

Thread closed. Trolling/flame wars in any forum will not be permitted. If you have a problem with a OS/its features, then make a thread to find a solution for it instead of bashing that OS.
